Built so families can see real roster openings faster
Rosterhunter exists because recruiting families kept asking a simple question: “How do we know which programs actually need our position?” We designed the platform to answer that question with real roster data, clean filters, and tools that keep outreach organized.
The story started on Thanksgiving 2024
The idea for Rosterhunter came together at a Thanksgiving table in 2024. A family member—deep in the recruiting process—was frustrated by how long it took to find real roster gaps. She wanted to help her athlete, but every school required digging into dated rosters, staff directories, and forms. The week after that conversation, we started mapping product requirements around one goal: make those answers available in minutes.
What began as a side project quickly turned into a focused build. We spoke with college coaches, agency partners, and dozens of families to confirm the same pain points. The result is a lightweight recruiting workspace: search by division, position, grad year, and location, then track every outreach step with shared checklists and notes.
Where we are now
We're still a small team of builders. That means we ship updates fast, listen closely to user feedback, and focus on features that help athletes move forward: smarter needs lists, verified coach contacts, and checklists that keep families aligned.
Every improvement is guided by users who run hybrid recruiting paths—DIY when possible, and collaborative when they bring in specialist partners like EmpowHER. Rosterhunter gives them the data backbone to make those partnerships effective.
If you have suggestions or want to collaborate, we'd love to hear from you.
